Rockler Catalog and Oddities
Yesterday, I received the new Rockler catalog. It’s an awesome source for all things woodworking. Nonetheless, I was rather amused/disturbed to find this in it:
Well, I guess if your future-minded and a woodworking enthusiast, this might be of interest. Anyway, I thought it was a wee bit bizarre… They also sell an individual casket plan and plans for pet caskets. Cutting edge?

Nice!
My favorite part is this:
“It is composting at its best,” said Beal, owner of The Natural Burial Company…

Because is that really composting at its best? What is that compared to? If you compost your dinner waste every night THAT is hundreds of times the amount of composte and to me THAT would be composting at it’s best
Unless they are thinking, if every person that died composted that way against the people that compost their dinner TODAY than maybe…

I think you might be overthinking it
But, I plan to go out like Edward Abbey (author of the Monkey Wrench Gang and Desert Solitaire and credited as the inspiration for the Earth First movement). He was buried sans coffin in the desert, with this written on a rock nearby:
EDWARD PAUL ABBEY

Interesting… but isn’t that vandalism? You know, writing on something that isn’t “yours’? Just saying…

probably. my guess is that Abbey wouldn’t have wanted the head stone. not sure.
