The Best Thing All Day

I’m dying to try New Belgium’s “Fat Tire Ale”, but nobody seems to stock it locally.

This, however, brightened my day:

and now, a quote from the venerable Marilyn Manson:

“I wasn’t born with enough middle fingers…”

Score: Brooklyn East India Pale Ale: 1, DeVille: 0

Deep Breaths, Bite Tongue

Rough meeting this morning where I was the punching bag and the designs I did were the doormat for the client to clean their feet on. Well, maybe not that bad, but it sucked. Since when did earthtones mean navy blue? Not for years have I sat through such a schizo beating.

So, naturally a bit of therapeutic inventory checking and re-stocking was in order. I fleed fled that office and pointed the car up key highway, up light street, over to MLK and up to Utrecht. I parked in the CVS lot across the street becuze I didn’t have any quarters for the meters. “Just try to give me shit,” I thought to myself.

Christ, I’m still raging in my head even after eating a very peaceful lunch outside, digging on this dog Cody that is ancient and very sweet and owned by one of the guys at Gutierrez Studios. I sketched in my Moleskine and took a few deep breaths.

Oh, back to Utrecht: picked up two squeegees, a new sketch book, and two jars of printing ink (fire red and orange, colors of baptism by fire and rage).

Brainfood Ordered

I’ve been zero-to-negative neural activity lately. Well, besides the renewed interest in screenprinting. Anyway, I have been having trouble finding the right novel to read. So, I ordered up some work-related books and one not-so-work-related (on the recommendation of Johnny)

I’ve been pretty burned-out at work (hence the volume of blogging I’m doing lately), so I’m hoping the other two will provide some much needed inspiration.
