Olivia: “There’s nothing wrong with my hair. There is something wrong with your hair!”

Olivia: “You could’ve put’in on a wig!”

I did a good deal of the cutting, but Mom helped out with the details.

2,000

Monday, October 27th, 2008

I hit 2,000 miles on my bike yesterday. That last 15 was rough. I’m glad I decided to do them indoors, on the trainer, as I was completely non-energetic and beat.

The addition of this here book holder to the bike has made it all the more enticing to do my riding indoors. No need to layer up, but it does get a little boring.

However, I did get to read all about Strings and Regular Expressions in Ruby. What could be more exhilarating?

Quote of the Week

Olivia: “Mommy, can Daddy make me an iPod?”

Jennifer: “Um, I don’t know, honey.”

Olivia: “But Mommy, he’s an Art Director.”

Me: “Yes, and I have a degree in advanced microchip design…” (muffled)

Ah, kiddos!

we are having some kind of halloween shindig at work next friday. I plan to shave my head into a nice, skinny mohawk. I’m going to keep the facial hair. Then I’m gonna wax it up or gel it up so it’s super sharp. I would like to fashion an oversized bead ring and “pierce” my head. I’m thinking one of those styrofoam rings from the craft store spray painted silver and cut so that it can sit on my head around the temples?

What are your plans on halloween?

1920

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

I’m not now at 1920 miles for the year. I have been riding indoors a lot lately, which is getting boring. But I haven’t been able to push myself to get up earlier and layer up against the new chilliness…

Perhaps Thursday or Friday I will face my fear. I have to keep in mind the masochistic thrill of riding to work last December when it was 18°
